Rescue Plan Child Care Funds

Rescue Plan Child Care Funds

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR), Bureau for Children and Families (BCF) is conducting public forums on the proposed use of American Rescue Plan (ARP) Child Care Funds.

Public insight gathered from the meetings will help guide expenditures for approximately $260 million in ARP funding to help provide support to improve the affordability, availability, and quality of child care services in West Virginia and to provide stabilization of the child care market.

DHHR will hold virtual forums for parents and guardians who use child care, child care providers, and stakeholders:

  • Six regional forums for child care providers, child care center directors and staff, family child care providers, family child care facility owners and staff, out-of-school time center directors and staff;
  • Six regional forums for parents and guardians who use child care, including grandparents and foster parents; and
  • Three forums for stakeholders in early child care, business owners, local and state government representatives, Chamber of Commerce members, and agencies who partner with early care and education programs.

Participants do not need to attend the forum scheduled for their region if a date and time in a different region better suits their schedule. However, participants should attend the session scheduled for their audience type to ensure that the discussion best addresses their needs.

If you are unable to attend a virtual event, surveys to collect input will also be distributed by Child Care Resource and Referral organizations and posted to the BCF website.
